July 1, 1998 Dear Sir or Madam:

We take great pleasure in remending Wang Yong, one of my favorite students, for admission into your distinguished graduate program. Mr. Wang was admitted in 1986 at 14 years of age into the SPECWeAL CLASS for the GWeFTED YOUTHS, my university’s unique program that caters to the intellectual needs of unusually talented Chinese youngsters. Wet was a rare privilege he earned with his nearly impeccable academic performance through the years of his elementary and secondary school. He impressed me almost as he entered into my university, a major cradle of china’s scientific and technological talents. At the time, members of the Gifted Class all had to spend half a month studying by themselves the principles of calculus and then take an exam so that we could evaluate their self-study capability. Mr. Wang scored the highest grade in that exam. He also exhibited a keenly whetted mind during class discussions. To my regret at the time, his English was not as good as his mathematics or physics.(缺點介紹,公正真實) But We noticed he made a point of working especially hard in improving his English during his five undergraduate years with us. By now, he seems to be at least as proficient in English as most of his former classmates in the Gifted Class. Wen my experience with Mr. Wang, We was impressed with not only his extraordinary intelligence but also his ambitions and persistence. We am sure that Mr. Wang will be an outstanding student in any doctoral program that he may care to enroll in. Dear Colleagues:

I am writing this letter to attest to Paul’s skills in language and public relations.

In the four years I have known him, I have been consistently impressed with his ability not only to negotiate complex ideas in other languages, but also to relate these things in a personable, conscientious fashion. His manner in these cases is both professional and personal, two qualities which I find particularly valuable in a professional setting. He has personally helped me in professional negotiation for everything from train tickets to contract information, and I have always been able to count on him.

I first met Paul in school, where he was a student at the university at which I taught. He was well-known to most of the westerners in town, who could call from different universities to ask for his help.

Sometimes this help involved translation of professional documents, and sometimes it involved personal help in making phone calls. Many of these westerners continue to call him today, even though they live quite far away from him, because they have come to trust him very much.

From this foundation in public relations Paul has found positions in various professional capacities and has been highly-valued in each place. He is generally the sort of employee a company finds most valuable in its dealings with both foreign and domestic clients.

He puts people at their ease with his language ability and manner, both of which communicate to people that they can relax and simply communicate.

I would highly recommend Paul as an employee. His experience and manner are rare and very valuable.

  your sincerely,xx

Dear Sir/Madam:

I am writing this letter of recommendation for Mr.Caleb,my former student. I have known Mr. Caleb for more than 6 years since his freshman year at "University of Minnesota". At that time,he took the course-- "Mathematical Analysis," which I taught mainly for junior students majoring in Mathematics. To my surprise,I found he was among the few students in his class who could keep up with the pace of my lectures. Moreover,he often posed thought-provoking questions during the course. Thus it was natural that I liked discussing with this young man and became familiar with him. The more I knew him, the more I found he was talented at mathematics. As you can see,he got excellent scores on the course.

In fact,he ranked No. 1 on this 270 hours course in the talented student class which has 34 intelligent others. With his outstanding talent and solid mathematical background,he also did quite well in most other courses during his undergraduate study. By the way,you may wonder why his undergraduate scores look not so good compared to other Chinese applicants. It is easy to explain, because he belonged to the talented student class, which were required to endure harder test papers and stricter grading than most other college students did at least at "University of Minnesota". He even served as Prof. Linda s Research Assistant for one year. No one could deny his commitment to his job. As a matter of fact,Prof. Linda s electronic lab happened to be neighboring my office and I could always see him working in the lab, either repairing the instruments or helping Prof. Linda collect lab reports. Maybe one more example will demonstrate his commitment more clearly. Once he suggested compiling a FORTRAN program to solve a complicated circuit problem in his class. In order to do that,he had to do a lot of computer work. However, because there were few computers available in our computer lab,he had to wake up at 5 a.m. in winter (please note: "Twin city" is a downtown near the north border of China,so it is pretty cold in winter and the heating system is not working very well.) to ensure the 1st position of the long waiting line for his classmates and himself! At last he and his classmates finished the program successfully with his great efforts.

As to his personality,I would like to say Mr. Caleb is a warm-hearted, honest and upright student. He was always ready to help others. During my lectures, many students got confused at some points and I could always see Mr. Caleb help them explain during breaks. In the meanwhile,I must admit that Mr. Caleb was a bit impatient sometimes.

Finally,I would like to conclude my recommendation as follows: frankly,Mr. Caleb is not a genius, but I promise his great intelligence, commitment to work and his kind nature will impress you deeply. Thus I recommend him without reservation for his admission and financial aid to your program. Please feel free to contact me if needed. Sincerely Yours

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my great pleasure to recommend Miss XX for further postgraduate study, as she was one of my best students in our department.

XX has entered the Department of Accountancy of Anhui University of Finance &Economics in September 20xx. Her learning achievements have been very good among the students of department of Accountancy. I was the instructor of the econometric and accounting courses during the student's undergraduate studies and with the curricular and extracurricular interaction with the students, she made me deep impressed. When the first time I saw this student, she is a reserved, but diligent in thinking and she'd love to ask good questions. It can be found that she has a strong capability of independent thinking after the multiple conversations with her. For example, when teaching the course in econometrics, the student can be skeptical of the models in the book, and point out the imperfections. The student has a certain amount of scientific research ability, and she has been involved in the "Challenge Cup" Students' Extracurricular Scientific and Technological Works Competition and achieved excellent results. During the four years in the university XX has passed the CET-4 and CET-6 and has excellent achievements. And the CET-6 got 553 points. Besides, XX has got the National Computer Certificate II in 20xx, and got first-class learning excellent scholarship two times during the university.

XX got an internship chance at an accounting firm in Anhui province in 20xx. She has learned a lot of knowledge outside books during the work. The work of the accounting firm include that the contents of a complete takeover of the debtor's property, seals and account books, documents and other materials. XX worked hard during the internship, and she always asked to the experienced predecessors when she encountered difficulties in the work. The student is good at thinking and able to learn by analogy. She can always listen to the proposals humbly which are put forward by others. Knowledge that she learned in school can be applied flexibly to the specific work to complete the tasks very well.

Dear Admission Committee:

Miss Pan Bei requested a letter of recommendation from me to support her application for graduate program at your university. As her teacher, I am pleased to comply with her request.

I first got to know Miss Pan when she enrolled at university and I was the assistant director of her class at that time. Being a professor for several years, I noticed that due to the lack of self-learning ability, it is really challenging for students, even those performing excellent in senior school, to keep up with the college speed. However, as a diligent girl without any solid background in Computer Science before college, she adapted quickly to the especially competitive environment in our department. At the end of the first year, she earned the 5th rank in her class, while ranking 1st among the girls. I was fairly impressed by her self-learning technique and exceptional efforts.

Hence, I believe, goal-oriented, not afraid of inchoateness and with persistence, she has the quality to make achievements.

What distinguished her among her classmates, I think, was that she went far beyond acquiring excellent scores in the exams and instead got her range of knowledge enlarged. In spring, 20xx, Miss Pan took the course I taught named “Algebraic Structures and Combinatorial Mathematics”. This inquisitive and assiduous young woman was sometimes the last to leave after my class, raising novel questions related to the subject. I found that she understood the knowledge in depth and detail. Furthermore, I still remember during the spring vocation in May, due to the break-down of my mail box, I missed her mails to discussing some questions. But the following week during the course time, she asked me directly. Her zeal for knowledge and the spirit to explore answers really leave me a deep impression. Finally, she was among the few students who got almost full marks in every test in class which showed her exceeding grasp of every chapter. Thus, I gave her 98/100 for the excellent performance in my course.

In summary, I have every reason to believe that Miss. Pan will make outstanding performance at your university as a graduate. I would appreciate greatly if you give her a favorable consideration. Please feel free to contact me directly if more assistance is needed.

Dear Admission Office:

I am pleased to write this letter for my former student Miss Nan Li, who graduated from this College with an L.B. degree in June 1978.Miss Li was admitted to the Department of Law of this College in 1974 through highly competitive entrance examination which is conducted annually and is open to the whole nation. Even in such a selective group. Miss Li made herself distinguished. As professor and dean of the College, I have access to her records of academic work and moral conduct, In her fourth year study, I instructed her in Anglo-American Laws on Trespass. So I have known her quite well. Miss Li's performance, like that in many other courses she taken, was excellent with a superior grade of 86 for the first semester, and 84 for the second semester. In our university and in other university here, 80 is considered "A" , the highest level. As far as I know, Miss Li wishes to continue her study in Law for an advanced

degree. I am sure she has had sufficient prerequisite knowledge for the subject and certainly has the ability to undertake the study. I recommend Miss Li without reservation and shall appreciate your

  favorable consideration of her application.

留學推薦信英文15

dear professor:
this letter of recommendation is for caleb, a young man i have had the pleasure of knowing for the last20 months. as a professor emeritus, i have come in contact with thousands of college and graduate students. however, mr. caleb stands out as a very extraordinary one with his research and teaching capability, personality and what is more, his "academic spirit".
during his graduate study, he worked as my research assistant first, then as a teaching assistant of our department. usually it is hard for someone to be good at even either one. however, as his adviser, i was pleased to find thatboth works he did was far exceeding what is called good. for example, unlike most other graduate students who are eager to publish essays and thus fear to take pains to make exhaustive investigation for their research, mr. caleb made extensive survey for his in the project sponsored by science and tech commission of "chicago" municipal searched every possible source of information within his reach and affords for related materials. as far as i know, he has been to beijing to the national library of china, science and tech information center, tsinghua university s library and most public libraries of "chicago". he searched both in library and on web, which is a totally new approach to us. neither was mr. caleb satisfied with second-hand information only. during the process, he also interviewed with supervisors of some scientific institutes of "chicago" to obtain first-hand information.

his teaching is equally praiseworthy. i often heard his students said that s lectures were interesting and enlightening and they loved to listen to his lectures. in fact, he has his own teaching my knowledge,it is quite western. in other words, he pays more attention to arouse the desire of seeking knowledge among his students instead of maintaining a quiet and rigid lecture atmosphere as most other teachers you can imagine his lectures are full of discussions, laughter and eager eyes of learning.

his personality also impressed me so much. i would like to take only one case among numerous ones as summer, i happened to have some thesessent to a professor who lived in another university for his was so urgent that i could not wait even one more moment. then i got mr. caleb to do it. he nodded without even hesitation. it sounds like not a big deal. however, it was scorching outside at noon then and it took him almost1hour s bike ride back and forth!

besides his research, teaching capability and personality,i think i should bring up the overwhelmingly strong point of mr. caleb--his academic spirit. although i know that it is hard to define what is called "academic spirit", mr. caleb does prove it through his independence on his research, innovative perspective and commitment to academic activity. frankly, i think it is the "academic spirit"that distinguishes him from thousands of college and graduate students i have ever known. with the "academic spirit", mr. caleb is marching steadily towards his career goal--an ideal scholar with time goes by.

one more point. mr. caleb s english is excellent compared to most college or graduate students i have ever example, "chicago" municipal govern-ment held "international friendship month" and invited many foreigners (including guests from clevend, .) last summer. mr. caleb was chosen as one of6volunteer interpreters out of nearly300 college and graduate studentswho applied the positions. therefore i am sure that he will adapt to the rigors of graduate school life in . without any great difficulty.

your kind consideration will be greatly would like to providemore information upon your request. you can reach me either by the home phone and mailing address or via internet,my email address is: xxxx@

  thank you.

truly,
